This Shabbat with Barak Ravid
Friday, May 9th-Saturday, May 10th
Dear Beth El Friends,
When we invited Israeli breaking news journalist Barak Ravid to be our scholar-in-residence, we couldn’t have anticipated just how urgent this moment would become. Hostages remain in Gaza, protests continue to fill the streets of Israel, and a new phase of the war is unfolding. Yet no matter the domestic turmoil or geopolitical threats, our community remains committed to engaging deeply with Israel. That’s why we invited Barak—to learn from his expertise and insight. This is a topic close to our hearts; we have a real stake in the future of the Jewish state.
Over Shabbat, we’ll have three opportunities to learn with him. I hope you’ll join us for what promises to be an important and thought-provoking conversation.
Looking forward to learning together, Rabbi Viki Bedo
