WESTCHESTER COMMUNITY SOLIDARITY CYCLE Be part of a unique community event as we welcome a special delegation of 11 cyclists from Israel's Gaza Envelope region. These brave individuals, survivors of the October 7th attack, are on a journey of healing and connection through their passion for cycling. Join us Sunday, July 28th at 9:30am at the entrance of Chatterton Avenue and Tarrytown Road (enter the lot and make a left). You can run, slowly bike, or bike a lot along the Bronx River Parkway between 10 and 12 noon this Sunday. To join this event in partnership with Project 24, UJA Federation NY, WJC, and Run 4 Their Lives, register here.
DO A MITZVAH! Join UJA Westchester Families on Sunday, August 4th 11am to 12:15 pm for the annual Supplies for Success event! Engage the whole family in this intergenerational mitzvah project - kids of all ages can pack backpacks full of school supplies to help children in local, underserved communities start the school year off right and set them up for success! The event is taking place concurrently at both Westchester Reform Temple in Scarsdale and Bet Torah in Mount Kisco. Please see more information and register here.
LOOKING FOR HOST FAMILIES Westchester’s “Shalom Yisrael” has for over 20 years been bringing small groups of Israeli women for a 10 day visit as a way of thanking them for their front line volunteering efforts. This year’s group of 6 women is from Ashkelon not very far from Gaza; they work to help single moms and needy families. We are looking for families to host one guest each for September 15-25. Shalom Yisrael provides daily programming for the guests. Beth El families have hosted in the past. Interested in hosting? For details please contact Marc Karell atmamaromarc@gmail.com or Alan Greenberg at asgreenberg2@gmail.com.
