Hi everyone,
Happy Rosh Chodesh Tevet (starting the month of Tevet) and Happy Hanukkah! We will be celebrating the 8th night of Hanukkah with our Community Candle Lighting at 5:45 pm. Please park your cars and come inside and join us! We will not be running the carpool line.
As a reminder, we are still collecting Gold Bond (or similar) and board games! Feel free to drop off on Thursdays or Sundays, or let us know if you want to come by another day.
While Hanukkah may be ending, we have a special Havdallah on Saturday night for our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade families, as well as mitzvah trip for our middle schoolers early on Sunday. We also have events early in January that you won't want to miss! Here's our calendar:
Thursday, December 14: Regular RS & Community Candle Lighting; no carpool line.
Saturday, December 16: Family Havdalah for 2nd-4th grade families at 6 pm. Register here.
Sunday, December 17: Regular RS & Moadon
Middle School (Ivy's class) volunteers at Hope at 7:30 am. Register here.
Mental Health Initiative event about fostering resilience and well-being as related to Israel and antisemitism at 5:30 pm.Register here.

Family Havdallah for 2nd, 3rd & 4th Grade Families Saturday, December 16 at 6 pm for families with 2nd, 3rd & 4th graders
We are kicking off our Family Havdallah programming with our 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade families. We'd love for you to join us! We will meet at Rabbi Sitkin's home, although Beth El will be a backup location in case of inclement weather. We will enjoy Havdallah, games, fire pit and s'mores. Of course, siblings are invited to join!
Fostering Resilience and Well-Being Amid October 7th Attacks, Israel's War, and Antisemitism Sunday, December 15 at 5:30 pm
During this time of war and antisemitism, many of us are experiencing the effects of increased stress and anxiety. Join an enlightening panel discussion moderated by Rabbi David Schuck as experts delve into the profound effects of vicarious trauma and stress on our physical and mental well-being, as well as that of our children. This session will offer coping strategies and a supportive space to process our feelings during these exceptionally challenging times.
This program is organized by the Beth El Mental Health Initiative. This program is underwritten by the Robert Matthew Klein for Inclusion & Special Needs.
Chaverim goes BOWLING! Saturday, January 6 from 8-9:30 pm for Parents of School-Age Children
Join Chaverim for a night of bowling without the kids! Get to know other Beth El parents while showing off your rolling arm.
Save the Date: MLK Mitzvah Day Monday, January 15 from 11 am-1 pm for the whole Beth El community
Join your Beth El community to give back in honor of MLK Day! We’ll have a variety of projects suitable for the whole family. Come any time between 11 am-1 pm to make the world a better place!
