Hi everyone,

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Now, believe it or not, Hanukkah is two weeks away, and Winter Break is just around the corner from that. 

As we are in this season of giving, we have two opportunities:

1. IDF soldiers on the front lines often don't have access to regular showers. They are relying on medicated powders like Gold Bond, and we'll help provide them! Please bring in bottles (any size except the travel size), either Gold Bond or similar brands—generic is fine!
2. Maddy Plaxin (RS 7th grader) is collecting games for NJY Camp for her bat mitzvah project. She asks that you donate any board or card games (new or gently used) that are camp-appropriate.

We have had a very busy November in the Religious School. Click below for each class' updates.

  • 6th grade BE Mitzvah Experience at 10:30 am (parents and kids)
• Thursday, December 7: Regular RS & 1st night of Hanukkah
  • RS will light the first candle together at 5:50 pm; carpool line will run normally.
• Saturday, December 9:
  • Tot Hanukkah from 10:30-11:15 am (during services).
  • ​​​​​​​Maccabee Madness from 6-7:15 pm. Register here.
• Sunday, December 10: Regular RS & Moadon
• Thursday, December 14: Regular RS
  • Kitah Dalet & Kitah Hey field trip to Willow Towers from 4-5:15 pm. Register here.
  • Middle School makes sandwiches for Hope Community Services
  • Community Candle Lighting at 5:45 pm; please park and walk in because we will not run the carpool line.
• Saturday, December 16: Family Havdalah for 2nd-4th grade families at 5 pm. Register here.

Tot Hanukkah
Saturday, December 9 at 10:30 am
for families with young children

Join us for a Hanukkah-themed Tot Shabbat! We'll sing and celebrate Hanukkah and Shabbat, and we'll end with a special Hanukkah-themed snack!

Maccabee Madness
Saturday, December 9, 6-7:15 pm
for children in K-5th grade; 6th & 7th graders can be leaders and helpers

Join us in blue and white for Havdalah, Hanukkah candle lighting, a light dinner with latkes, and lots of Hanukkah-themed activities such as dreidel spin art, relay races, Hanukkah Bingo and more!

Family Havdallah for 2nd, 3rd & 4th Grade Families
Saturday, December 16 at 6 pm
for families with 2nd, 3rd & 4th graders

We are kicking off our Family Havdallah programming with our 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade families. We'd love for you to join us! We will meet at Rabbi Sitkin's home, although Beth El will be a backup location in case we need more space. We will enjoy Havdallah, a light dairy dinner, games, community and s'mores. Of course, siblings are invited to join!

Cost: $10/person, $36 max per family
