I am excited to share plans with you about the Prayer Team for the coming year.
This year, I am planning to personally lead the Prayer Team sessions! Cantor Gaby and Jack will join me, but I am eager to take on this expanded role. I believe that together, we have the ability to lift up our Shabbat and holiday observances, and I’m happy to take the lead on this.
We count on your continued participation and I hope you’ll encourage some of your friends to join us. We would like to increase the numbers as much as possible. Everyone is welcome to join - no prior experience or skills needed.
My goal for the Prayer Team is to enlarge the cohesiveness and impact of this important group. Our monthly sessions will be more than a rehearsal of new melodies in preparation for certain services. They will be an opportunity to build community, to study, to socialize, to eat and drink together, and of course to sing and pray together. The goal is for our Prayer Team to build a sense of camaraderie and community, and to play a central and vibrant role in our synagogue’s prayer life.
I ask you to continue to make a priority to attend our First Friday Kabbalat Shabbat Services. These are spirited and uplifting and we would like to continue to build on our success from last year. In addition, this year we will expand the role of the Prayer Team on Shabbat mornings and holidays. More to come on that when we meet.
Please mark your calendars with the dates listed below. Note we plan a special Prayer Team Melaveh Malkah on Saturday, November 11, at 7 pm, which will take place at my home. I hope everyone can try to come to that and we will sing and linger with the Shabbat Queen!
I am excited to see you all again. Please be in touch with me directly or with Cantor Gaby or Jack with any questions.
