The goal of the Beth El Day Camp is to provide a safe, fun-filled, caring, recreational experience in a Jewish environment for young people. We strive to develop positive self-esteem and creativity as well as respect for self, others and the environment. We believe that a child’s growth is a process involving physical, mental, emotional and social development. It is our aim to see that each child develops to the fullest both individually and as part of a group. Beth El Day Camp is dedicated to providing each child with an enriching summer experience.

Our staff is a crucial element in running our day camp and is committed to creating a fun, supportive and safe atmosphere while being role models for the campers. Requirements:
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must be available the WHOLE summer and attend ALL orientation dates.
• Must be able to swim. The pool depth ranges from 2-6 feet. Counselors will be actively involved in swim instruction each day and will be expected to wear a bathing suit and to be in the water with the children.

Available Positions:
• Head Counselors- teachers and adults: Head counselors are responsible for groups of children in a specific age group, with assistance from 1-3 co-counselors. Head counselors must have experience working with children and camp staff leadership experience is helpful. Applicants must be able to lead and mentor assigned counselors in their group as well as communicate with parents..
• General group counselors-college and high school students: Group counselors are responsible for assisting the head counselor in running the group, as well as be willing and able to participate in all activities which include sports, swimming, arts and more.
• Lifeguards: Applicants must be Red-Cross First Aid and CPR certified. Lifeguards must teach swim lessons, maintain camper records and guard pools during free swim.
• Specialists: Specialists work in designated activities which include arts and crafts, sports, cooking and nature. Specialists are responsible for creating activities specific to their specialty.
